WINTER IN THE KRKONOŠE MOUNTAINS

Benecko is the perfect choice for a family winter holiday. This area offers plenty of winter activities to entertain your kids, and especially to get them to enjoy winter sports, not just skiing. Benecko is known for its numerous cross-country trails, snowtubing or tobogganing.

Benecko Ski Area

The Benecko Ski Area is the perfect choice for families with children. Sunny slopes with beautiful views of the region are suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers, who can, for example, try a slalom run. The facility offers a 4-seat chairlift, 10 ski lifts, and 2 magic carpets for children. A total of 5.5 km of slopes are prepared for skiers.

And what can you look forward to? As has already been mentioned, sports-minded skiers can try the slalom run. There are also 2 terrain parks. Your children can have fun in the kids’ ski park and the Family Arena. A ski school with experienced instructors is open for both young skiers and beginners. You’re not really into skiing, but you still love winter? Try snowtubing, jetting downhill on a special tube. You won’t stop with one ride.

THE MACHER LIFT

Distance from the hotel: 150 m

The Macher ski lift as part of the Benecko Ski Area is the first lift along the route from Jilemnice to Benecko and is located right next to our hotel. It is linked to the third-longest slope in the ski area. The blue and red slopes are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. The wide and groomed slope is especially praised by families with children and ski instructors. Due to its width, it is also suitable for ski course students and teachers, ensuring a calm and safe teaching environment.

From the Macher lift exit station, it is possible to ski down to the Kejnos chairlift or the Liška lift. On the other hand, it is easy to reach the Macher lift on skis from the Benecko Ski Area central ticket office.

Cross-country skiing

Distance from the hotel: 2.4 km

Benecko is a paradise for cross-country skiers, mainly due to the large number of hiking trails that are adapted in the winter for cross-country enthusiasts. The trails are arranged into several interconnected circuits, which have various lengths and difficulties. Tracks are groomed for both classic skiing as well as skating. The total distance of the trails is around 100 km. All trails are also linked to other Krkonoše trails.

Tobogganing and sledding

Distance from the hotel: 3.5 km

You can find lots of hills and small trails in Benecko that you or your children can use for sledding. We recommend the tobogganing route on Bucharova road. Get on behind Zadní Žalý and ride down to the Žalý Hotel.
